Project overview
Displacement in Gaza is rarely a single event — many families have moved again and again, each time starting over with nothing. Emergency Housing & Shelter meets them at that moment of loss with the essentials of survival and the first steps back toward a home.
At the fastest end, we distribute emergency shelter kits: tarpaulins, timber and tools, rope, ground insulation, blankets and cooking sets — everything a family needs to establish a safe, dry living space quickly. In winter we add thermal layers and waterproofing before the rains and cold arrive, because a tent that floods is no shelter at all.
Where a damaged building can still be used, we go further, sealing and repairing a single safe room within a family's own home. Restoring one weatherproof, lockable room transforms daily life — it means privacy, protection from the weather, and somewhere to keep a family's few belongings secure.
As reconstruction becomes possible, this project shifts toward more durable repairs and rebuilding. The goal never changes: every family we serve deserves more than to survive — they deserve to come home.
